The 2025 Batch A, Stream 1 NYSC Orientation Course commenced on Wednesday, April 23rd, at the Bayelsa State Permanent Orientation Camp.
Prospective corps members arrived in their numbers and were warmly received by camp officials.
On arrival, they underwent routine security checks by personnel stationed at the gate. Refreshments were made available at the reception desk to ease their stress after long journeys from different parts of the country.
After the initial reception, the corps members proceeded to the accommodation section where they were allocated hostels by the camp officials. The process was orderly and efficiently managed by the accommodation team.
Meanwhile, the registration committee continued registering qualified prospective corps members. At the same time, platoon officers began documentation procedures for the issuance of NYSC kits and other camp essentials.
The prospective corps members expressed gratitude to the NYSC management for the warm and organized reception. Many praised the hospitality shown, especially the refreshments provided at the reception area.
in other news, the State Coordinator, Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli Charity has charged 2025 BATCH A, Stream 1 camp officials to imbibe professionalism, emotional intelligence and empathy in the discharge of their respective duties during the orientation course.
She gave this advice during her maiden meeting with the camp officials at NYSC permanent orientation camp Boro town, Bayelsa State on Tuesday 22/4/25.
The NYSC Boss emphasized on discipline, team work, as panacea for a hitch free and successful orientation course.
She enjoined the course participants that as mentors, they should show exemplary leadership and espirit de corps.
The State Coordinator used the opportunity to highlight key resolutions at the just concluded Annual Management Conference and 2025 Pre-orientation Workshop.
Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli again explained in detail the registration process commencing from the arrival of the prospective corps members at the camp gate.
Okpalifo urged the camp officials to always look out for corps members who may be sick and hiding their ailments for adequate attention.
The Coordinator also hinted on effective communication for smooth running of the camp. She stressed that the extant rules and regulations guiding orientation course still subsist and enjoined them to observe all the rules.
She warned against all forms of indiscipline elucidating that management will not tolerate any obnoxious behaviour.
Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli urged camp officials to be security conscious and be vigilant at all times.
She urged the Security Agencies and NDLEA on camp to be vigilant.
She charged all camp officials to actively participate in all camp activities.
The Camp Director, Mrs Essien Ena Omawumi solicited for the support and cooperation of all camp officials to ensure a hitch free orientation course. She tagged the camp as ‘ camp of peace.’
The Camp Commandant, Capt AM Bello assured that military personnel will synergise with other security agencies to ensure a successful exercise.
Other heads of collaborating agencies and assignments expressed their readiness and that of personnel under them in the discharge of their duties as expected.
